Day1
Cochin

Arrive at Cochin International Airport in your scheduled flight. After customs clearance, immigration formalities and baggage collection, at the exit of the Arrivals terminal, you will be met by one of the Spice Land Holidays representative.Your driver will be with you throughout your stay in Kerala. He will drive you to your Cochin Hotel. Cochin- the queen of Arabian Sea, also known as Kochi is one of the finest natural harbors of the world. The yesteryear capital of the world spice trade for many centuries is today’s business capital of Kerala and one of the fastest growing cities in India. Kochi is actually a group of islands scattered along the central coast of Kerala and Vembanad Lake. It was the colonial gateway of India, the Dutch, Portuguese, English and French were preceded by the Arabs, Jewish and Chinese have all left their imprints in this charming land. Proceed for half day sightseeing of Fort Cochin. Fort Cochin is special, the whole area is got a heritage status. Here you could explore the rich colonial elements of Fort Cochin which includes one of Asia’s finest Jewish Synagogue - built in 1568 and is also the oldest Synagogue in the Commonwealth; the 13th Century cantilever Chinese Nets – these manually operated nets were introduced by the travellers from the court of the Chinese ruler, Kublai Khan; the 500 year old, St. Francis Church, which is India’s Oldest European Church, also the Dutch Palace with frescoes from epics like Ramayana and Mahabharata. Also visit one of the eight basilicas of Kerala- Santa Cruz Basilica.By evening, if time permits, you should check out the Cultural Art Centre which showcases the incredible art form of South India-Kathakali. This archaic vibrant dance drama also gives a demonstration of the make-up application before the show. The three dimensional facial make-up made with thin rice paste and paper known as ‘Chutti’, is in the Guinness Book of Records as the most three dimensional make up in the world. Overnight at Cochin in your hotel.


Day2
Munnar

This morning after breakfast at the hotel, head up to the Western Ghats; a three hour drive to the town of Munnar, at an altitude of nearly 6000 ft. It is one of India’s picturesque hill stations also yesteryear British summer retreat, away from the saline heat of the Arabian coasts.Once in Munnar, check-in to your hotel or resort, and gear up for the amazingly cool climate of this beautiful tropical paradise. Later checkout this remarkable ‘Tea Museum’, which showcases some amazing features that details the origin and growth of century-old tea plantation – from a simple tea roller to the present fully automatic tea factory of Mattupetty among other splendid possessions of the museum. Wrap up the evening with dinner and overnight stay in your hotel or resort in Munnar.


Day3
Munnar

Spend the morning bird watching or sight-seeing. After breakfast from your place of stay, step into Srishti-Aranya Naturals. A concept evolved for a cause- to save the rich Indian craft of dyeing clothes naturally, which was on the verge of dillution. Srishti-Aranya Naturals, a Tata iniative in Munnar is a natural dyeing unit within Srishti Welfare Centre. It is known for the production of exquisite fabrics using environment-friendly techniques and non-toxic products which is on high demand around the globe. Another hallmark of Srishti-Aranya Naturals is its rehabilitation unit named Developmental Activities in Rehabilitative Education (DARE), which employees a good number of differently-abled youngsters. Drive among the postcard perfect winding roads into this beautiful reservoir at Mattupetty. Perhaps checkout the boating options available within the reservoir. Also visit the ‘Echo point’, and may be chuckle at the echo of your loudest sound. You could trek down over here and if lucky get a glimpse of the endangered Nilgiri Tahr- the mountain goats of the Western Ghats. Eravikulam national park (rajamala National Park) will be the highlight of your Munnar sightseeing. This park is the abode of the endangered mountain goats- The Nilgiri Tahr. Eravikuam is also the largest abode of the endemic ‘Strobilanthes kunthiana’- locally known as Neelakurinji. Its pure trance to behold the sight of the mountains within the park when they get carpeted by these tiny blue flowers. A flower with 40 odd varieties bloom in all its regality once in every twelve years. Within the park is the tallest peak in South India- the Anaimudi Peak, nicknamed as the Himalayas of the south, towering at a height of 2700m.Overnight stay at Munnar


Day4
Kumarakom

This morning after breakfast, checkout from Munnar Hotel and drive to Kumarakom. Kumarakom is your gateway to rural Kerala. Canals and backwaters snaking through the Lush paddy fields is a beautiful sight to behold. The bird sanctuary at Kumarakom which was formerly a rubber estate is home to numerous regional birds and migratory birds. It is incredible to watch the migratory birds from Himalayas flying along with the local Brahminy Kites and Siberian Cranes. The beautiful swamps and a fish sanctuary are some other attractions of Kumarakom.Overnight stay at Resort.


Day5
Kumarakom

This morning after breakfast from your resort, check into your Houseboat for a 4 hour long cruise and a sumptuous lunch.The winding water routes of the Kerala backwaters is the chosen staycation of honeymooners and couples. Since their privacy is disturbed only by the paddling ducks or chirping of exotic birds or rhythmic ripples of the gentle waters. The heritage use of these Houseboats were for trading rice. Now they have evolved into a fine space for backwater cruising. Your backwater cruise experience will be a unique one, cruise through the endless turns of canals and backwaters, and engage in the sights and life around you to experience Kerala rural living. Day6
Kovalam

After breakfast check out from your resort and drive down to the southern coastal town of Kerala- Kovalam- favorite since the 70’s. Initially a hotspot of flower children and now to the whole world. Check in at your resort in Kovalam. You have your full day at leisure, as Kovalam has three incredible beaches. The lighthouse beach, Hawah beach and Samudra beach. The three beaches together forms the famous crescent beach with a coastline length of 17km. The iconic Lighthouse Beach is the kind of beach with a lighthouse, straight out of a picture book. With its red and white painted tower structure standing tall above a hillock at a height of 118 feet. The beach is loved for its soft expanse of sand and calm waters. Ideal to idle away.Hawah Beach with its rocky cape is preferred for swimming and sun bath. You can also spot fishermen in action on their catamarans.  Samudra Beach is a calm and secluded beach which is less visited by tourists. This beach is mostly preferred by honeymooners for its privacy. Overnight stay at Kovalam.

Kovalam

This morning after breakfast drive over to Trivandrum to explore some of the best landmarks and attractions of this capital city of Kerala. Kanakakunnu Palace and Kowdiar Palace are Kerala’s traditional architectural gems. And then there is the world’s richest temple- Sree Padmanabha Swami Temple. All of them are testaments of nobility of the erstwhile kingdom of Travancore. Overnight at the Kovalam.

Trivandrum
