Day1
Cochin

Upon your arrival at Cochin Airport, we will meet you at the exit point of the arrival terminal. And we will personally take you to your hotel. The yesteryear fishing village called ‘Kochazhi’ has evolved through centuries to become Cochin. It’s the great flood of the 14th century that led to the rise of Cochin and the fall of Muzris, the silk route port, a little further on the opposite banks.Since then, for 600 years, the world has come to Cochin as traders, explorers and travelers. Everything in Cochin from its culture to language to cuisine to faith has emerged from a global mélange of great depth. Fort Cochin, the heritage zone, which has a diameter of roughly 5 km consists of more than 20 ethnicities of both Indian and Foreign origin.The laid-back charm of Fort Cochin has lively evenings. Take a stroll or relax in your hotel after dinner.


Day2
Cochin

After a relaxed breakfast and a short safety brief by your guide, let’s explore Fort Cochin.We will start our cycling through the narrow lanes and Spice market towards Mattancherry, the western part of Kochi. The bazar road of Mattancherry still continues with its centuries old trade of spices. The cultural anecdotes are intriguing and is evident in culture and history. Once we reach Mattancherry, we will head for the local visits which includes the Mattancherry Palace popularly known as the Dutch Palace. It showcases portraits and exhibits of the Rajas of the Kingdom of Kochi. The stunning mural art showcases frescoes from epics like Ramayana and Mahabharata. The architecture is a fine example of Colonial-Keralan architecture. We will walk through the busy Jew Street to visit Asia’s finest Jewish Synagogue. It is the oldest active synagogue in the Commonwealth of Nations. Once that’s done, we will cycle back to Fort Cochin Heritage Zone. Here you will be served a large slice of colonial history. Which includes, the 13th Century cantilever Chinese Nets, which are manually operated; 500 year old, St. Francis Church, which is India’s Oldest European Church, the 500 year old Gothic style church, the Santa Cruz Basilica, originally built by Portuguese. Once the sun sets on the Arabian Coast, let’s head for some cultural shots. It’s time for Kathakali, a 2nd century sacred art theatre. A stunning dance-drama with captivating dress-up called ‘Chamayam’. This archaic art form translates Hindu epics like the ‘Ramayana’ and the ‘Mahabarata’.  Overnight stay at hotel


Day3
Cochin

After breakfast, we will take you to Kumbalanghi. This will be your closest encounter of village life in Kerala. You could experience a very homely and leisurely interaction with the village folks through few activities. The ambience is calm n healthy surrounded by backwaters, away from the bustling city. The Traditional lunch of Kerala known as ‘Ela Sadhya’, will be served. This is a vegetarian lunch served on banana leaf with traditional recipes passed down over centuries. Your activities in the village will include the following:·        You will be served tender coconut water as a welcome gesture.Boat riding in the big country boat (provided with chairs and caps)·        Visit Crab farm·        Watching coir yarn making·        Watching coconut leaves weaving·        Visiting the agriculture farm (about 12 acres) and see different type of plantations (coconut, betel nuts, pepper, jack fruit, nutmeg, anthurium, orchids, vanilla etc.), water harvesting ponds and bio-gas plants.·        Watching Chinese fishing nets·        Lunch at the hall which has a backwater viewLater in the evening, we will take you to the mainland for a local market experience. The local market of Cochin known as Broadway is ironically a labyrinth of narrow roads and streets. The roads are lined with both small and big shops selling spices to clothes, stationery to leather, watches to umbrellas, and electronic goods to jewelry. After our Broadway walk we will take you on a ferry ride to return from main land Ernakulum to Fort Cochin. The ferry moves from the backwaters and crosses the busy ship channel along the manmade island called Willindon Island into the Mattancherry coast, reaching Fort Cochin. If by chance you get to board the evening ferry, you could catch up with the stunning sunset view on the Arabian coast. Let’s get back to your hotel for overnight stay. If get lucky, you will be able to witness the sunset during your local ferry ride endeavor. After which you can call it a day and go back your resort and relax.


Day4
Athirappilly

After breakfast, let’s check out from your Cochin hotel and go to Athirapally, your next destination. Athirapally known for its waterfalls is the largest waterfalls in Kerala cascading from 80 feet. Your resort in Athirappaly is perched amid the Sholayar ranges of virgin rainforest. You can certainly spot a good number of animals and birds of tropical forest. The beautiful falls at Athirapally is Kerala’s favorite picnic spot. Overnight is in Athirappally.


Day5
Athirappally

The virgin forests of Athirapally is a tropical paradise. A heaven for birders. The jungle trek by the Kerala forest department, which needs prior approval is a brilliant thing to do to explore the area deeply. The forest houses a number of endemic flora n fauna, many among them are sadly on the endangered list. Spotting wild elephants are common in here. The trail is exciting and definitely will bring in an adrenaline rush. Thread carefully with your cameras to get brilliant and rare pictures. After a relaxed breakfast from the resort, we will take you on a Jeep Safari to Malakkappara. En-route we’ll visit the tribal colony.Tribal Colony visitThe Sholayar forest range of Kerala is home to mainly four indigenous tribes namely the Kadar, the Malayar, the Muthuvar and the Mannaan. They co-exist in harmony inspite of having numerous differences in customs and faith.  Majority of them still make a living on activities like hunting, fishing and collecting honey and medicinal plants from the jungle. Camping with them will undoubtedly translate you to a Stone Age era. Malakkappara  Located on the kerala –Tamilnadu border is mainly a TATA tea estate managed and controlled by the Kerala forest department. Malakkapara is home to several rare and endangered species of flora and fauna. The 40 Kms jungle safari is thrilling and scenic. The region is rich with numerous small waterfalls and scenic spots. The area is also a favorite abode of elephants, monkeys, snakes and leopards. The jungle experience is sure to be etched in your memory. Late in the evening we will drive you back to the resort through the Malakkappara jungle.


Day6
Cheruthuruthy

After a relaxed breakfast you will check out from your Athirappilly resort and will be taken to Cheruthuruthy, the home of Kerala Kalamandalam. Enroute you will have a stopover at Rasagurukul, a riverside retreat that imparts everything nice to re-engineer life to its purest self. Rasagurukul embraces tradition and propagates a way of living that is fundamental. Their concept of ‘farm to table’ is an experience worth knowing, adopting and practicing for a healthier and purer form of life. Rasa experiences include a list of village experiences that still exist in purest form of tradition. For instance, your ride here will be a bullock cart. Oil making from coconut will not have electricity but done in the traditional manner, where oxen are used at ‘Chakku’, a traditional oil press. Watch local blacksmiths making traditional Keralan tools, also watch Bronze casting which is the making of Uruli traditionally. Weekend farmers meet is the best where you get to experience and learn about a lot of organic products. Checkout local tea shops, interact with locals while sipping your ‘chai’. Keralan Tea shop discussions range from grocery prices to parliament bills, Che Guevara to Khashoggi.  However the highlight of Rasa experience will be the traditional lunch made of organic vegetables and oil made in their own farm.We will reach Cheruthuruthy by evening. Check in and overnight stay at the resort. You can check in and relax overnight at your hotel.

After breakfast at resort. You will be taken to Kalamandalam for a program called ‘A day with the Masters’. Cheruthuruthy

After breakfast at resort.  We will explore the spiritual side of Central Kerala. Starting off with the Guruvayoor temple, the abode of Lord Sree Guruvayoorappan, an avatar of Lord Vishnu. It is one of the most famous and popular temple among Hindus of South India. Guruvayoor "AanaKottil" - Elephant Camp Anakottil of Guruvayoor is an elephant cradle also a shelter for elephants that has been offerings by devotees to the temple. The camp houses nearly 60 elephants. They are sheltered and trained too. Vadakkunnathan TempleVadakkunathan temple is where the world famous Thrissur Pooram is hosted. It is perhaps the largest gathering of humans in south India. The Pooram is a stunner with richly decked up elephants and festivities with the much hyped and celebrated fireworks. As per the archaeological findings, Vadakkunathan temple is one of the oldest temples of the Southern India and is the largest temple of the Kerala which is dedicated to worshipping Lord Shiva. This religious place is an extraordinary example of the classical Kerala style of architecture featuring outstanding murals of the 17th century echoing the story of Mahabharata. The wood carved vignettes are displayed in the Koothambalam and shrines.After temple visit you will be taken to resort to Resort.


Day9
Alleppey

After breakfast you will have to checkout from your hotel and drive down to Allepey, the Venice of the east.Allepey is Kerala’s major hub for houseboats. The ideal way to explore Allepey, the land of placid lagoons and intricate canals is in a houseboat. Alleppey town is located on the Laccadive Sea in the southern Indian state of Kerala. Alappuzha Beach is another major attraction with a 19th-century lighthouse. Other key features of Allepey is the world renowned annual snake boat race and the stunning architecture of Mullakkal Temple. Check in to your hotel in Allepey.


Day10
Alleppey

After a relaxed breakfast, check in to your houseboat and get going for a houseboat day cruise. The views are stunning, from placid wide lagoons to flocks of ducks, local kids jumping merrily into the waters from bent coconut trees, floating markets, wedding processions in small country boats, village women on toes with their daily chores. The lagoons are also known for its birds, special the migratory birds. Later in the day you can for a village visit, explore local cuisine, making of coir and perhaps visit the local fish market. A must see is the naval boat of Kerala known as snake boats locally known as ‘Chundanvallam’.


Day11
Mararikulam

After breakfast in your resort, you will have to checkout to drive down to Marari. You can check in to your resort in there. Essentials when in marari includes sunscreen, shades and swimsuits, because you are heading to the beach. The water is a beautiful blue and the beach is studded with coconut trees. Later in the evening you will get to visit the fisher men village to experience the local life of fisher folk. Overnight at the Resort.


Day12
Mararikulam

Marari, a sleepy fisherman’s nook located between the backwaters of Allepey and the colonial Cochin made a quick way to international tourist itinerary with its virgin beach and stunning beauty. Its calmness, expanse and cleanliness all attributes the reputation of being Kerala’s most beautiful beach. The village life of the fishermen can be watched or experienced at close quarters in here. The calm waters here are ideal for soft swim and snorkeling and on days with good tides, surfing is also optional. The day is relaxed and all to yourself. After a relaxed breakfast, perhaps you could explore the resort, pick a book or engage in conversation with the staff and if possible learn a Keralan recipe or two. Overnight at Hotel.


Day13
Cochin International Airport

Morning after breakfast and a relaxed morning you will have to check out by noon and drive down to Cochin airport to get your flight to your next destination.
