About Munnar

A picturesque hill station with an elevation of 5000 to 8000 feet from sea level, which is a must see destination in the tourism map. In the year 1870 John Daniel Munro introduced Munnar to the world. The land belonged to the Royal Family and was leased for cultivation and the transformation of the land started. The forests land was converted into farmlands. Tea was the most suitable crop and Tea estates sprang up.  Tea Museum, Tea factories and Wild life sanctuaries like Eravikulam National Park are the major attractions of the region.
